In the Summer of '64


Former Chicago Tribune newspaper columnist and author Bob Greene, roughly our contemporary, tried to imagine in "the summer of '64, choosing to listen to music that had been popular 50 years earlier: electing to hear a hit song from 1914 like ‘The Aba Daba Honeymoon’ by Arthur Collins and Byron Harlan. Impossible. Our dads had even failed in persuading us to sample their own favorite big-band music." But here he was, in the summer of 2014. . .
